Job Description

The time has come! With our recent expansions and the owner wanting to step down from running day to day operations, the Ina Group of companies encompassing Ina Motors, Ina Auto Service Centre and Ina Marine is excited to offer a new position as General Manager. As General Manager you will work closely with our management team and report directly to the owner. You will bring your passion, energy and proven track record in sales, leadership, customer satisfaction and success. Our General Manager will be expected to uphold the highest ethical standards, cultivate a culture of exceptional customer service, and create a positive working environment for our employees.We are looking for an individual that can take us to the next level. Must have extensive knowledge of used vehicles, a proven track record of growing sales volumes, good understanding of fixed operations and marine industry (sales & service), ability developing and motivating employees as well as being capable of recruiting and over-seeing people.A little bit about us and the opportunity presented:Ina Motors specializes in retailing quality used vehicles. You will need an extensive knowledge of appraising, buying, and marketing used vehicles. You will need to implement a sales process, build, and train your sales team to set sales targets and deliver maximum results. Looking to the future, you will be responsible to plan the successful re-opening of our downtown location planned for mid 2023.Apart from being the only authorized Mercury dealer in Victoria, Ina Marine now offers Yamaha, Suzuki, and Honda engines. Silverstreak, and Versatile provide our aluminum boats and Highfield offers our inflatables. And of course, we carry galvanized trailers to make a complete package. All this along with being a full staffed marine parts and service center. You will be expected to work closely with the Marine Manager to promote our new product lines and maximize the profits in all departments.With 10 bays to offer Ina Auto Service Centre is fully equipped to service and repair all years, makes and models of vehicles from electric to diesel, Smart Car to RV. As a newer acquisition we are continuing to grow and expand our clientele. Your primary focus would be on processes implementation with a focus on customer retention, integration with our dealership, increasing margins.Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations, remedy customer complaints promptly, and ensure customer satisfaction metrics are met
  • Recruit, hire, and train service managers, department managers, and sales/finance department managers to meet profit levels
  • Assist with the creation of affordable advertising campaigns and programs to increase sale and brand visibility for the businesses
  • Attend manager meetings and establish good working relationships with owners, managers, and dealership staff to establish processes and recommend daily/monthly targets
  • Implement growth strategies that align with group objectives by assessing profit and loss while maintaining inventory levels that meets the needs of the local market
  • Review monthly and annual financial statements for accuracy and completion before sharing with owner and reporting agencies
  • Learn and uphold all local, provincial, and federal regulations impacting marine & vehicle sales, and those industries as a whole
  • Build rapport with all staff members, increase efficiency, and decrease turnover
Qualifications:
  • Business degree is preferred but not required
  • Experience in a General Manager position for an automotive dealership is must, marine experience a bonus
  • Knowledge of the automotive and/or marine industry and trends
  • Ability to interpret profit and loss statements are necessary for success
  • Strong communication skills & a track record of proven leadership
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and VSA license
  • References will be required upon completion of successful interview
