Job Description

The Hotel Grand Pacific is looking for an additional Guest Services Agent to join our team. A proud member of the Preferred Hotels and Resorts collection, our independent hotel is located on Victoria’s beautiful inner harbour in the heart of the city’s tourist zone. The chosen candidate will use their outgoing personality and exceptional attention to detail to help operate an efficient front desk.A full-time position, this is an excellent opportunity for recent Hospitality Management graduates or individuals with previous hotel front desk experience who are looking to join a large, luxury property.Description of Duties:

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a pleasant, organized, accurate, and efficient arrival process for guests
  • Maximize hotel occupancy and daily revenue through upselling
  • Support front desk operations by accurately collecting and recording information
  • Perform accurate billing procedures
  • Proactively assist all hotel visitors to minimize inconveniences and ensure guest satisfaction
  • May include training on night audit procedures

Job Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary training in Hospitality Management preferred
  • At least 1 year of front desk or reservations experience in a full-service hotel
  • Experience with Opera PMS software preferred
  • Professional, welcoming, and enthusiastic demeanour
  • Positive and effective verbal & written communication skills
  • Eager to learn with a conscientious attitude
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Able to maintain composure, professionalism, and organization during rush periods
  • Takes initiative to maintain high standards of personal presentation at all times
  • Solid knowledge of Victoria and the surrounding area
  • Second language is an asset
  • Comfortable standing at a desk on a continual basis
  • Available to work more than 30 hours per week at varied shift times
