Job Description

The Victoria Conservatory of Music (VCM) is seeking to hire House Managers and Front of House staff to play a key role in running concerts and shows in our renowned performance halls.The Victoria Conservatory of Music – A great place to workThe VCM is so much more than just a music school; it is also one of the premier music venues of the Greater Victoria region hosting its own productions as well as many local and touring musicians and acts. It is also a creative hub where music, technology, and vision converge, fostering an environment where students can stretch their musical imaginations. We are a community that inspires, nurtures, and enriches through excellence in music education, performance, and wellness.Key ResponsibilitiesWorking with the Venues Manager, the Venues Staff are key positions within the Venues Department responsible for the supervision and operation of events at our Venues (Alix Goolden Performance Hall, Wood Recital Hall)Duties Include:

  • Artist / Production Company Liaison
  • Box Office / Concession Sales
  • Event Reconciliation / Cash Handling
  • Coordination of Volunteer Ushers
  • Stage Management
Qualifications and RequirementsA background in music event coordination / stage management an asset. Candidates must be well organized with an attention to detail. Applicants must be physically fit, have strong computer skills, and work well under pressure.Flexibility of schedule, and a willingness to work as part of a team is essential. First Aid training an asset.CompensationHouse Managers / Front of House CoordinatorsJob Types: Casual Part-time – On-callSalary: $21.00 / $19.00 per hourSchedule:
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Night shift
  • On call
  • Weekends
