In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.Reporting to the Director, Manager, or designate, the Knowledge Translation/Evidence Coordinator provides support for evidence synthesis and translation of evidence into practice and policy at Island Health. This role develops and implements integrated knowledge translation approaches in support of learning health system development, where evidence is converted to knowledge and knowledge informs practice and policy in a continuous cycle of improvement. This position is highly collaborative and engages internal leads and clinical teams and external academic and community partners to navigate the complexity of effective translation of evidence into population health and the delivery of health services on Vancouver Island.QUALIFICATIONS:Education, Training And ExperienceA level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Masters Degree in a health related field, including experience in health services research and knowledge translation. A minimum of 5 years experience working within or directly with the Canadian health care system in a similar capacity.Skills And Abilities
