Located in the heart of Victoria BC, the Strathcona Hotel is a stunning Victorian landmark that dates back to the historic gold rush area of the region. The Strathcona hotel is family owned and operated and has a long history of being "Victoria's Entertainment Center".OUR VENUESThe Sticky Wicket Pub and RestaurantThe Maple RoomThe Rooftop PatioDistriktThe Clubhouse BarBig Bad JohnsThe Games RoomThe Strath Ale, Wine and Spirit MerchantsJob Title: Liquor Store Sales AssociateEmployment Type: Full Time/Part TimeLocated in the heart of downtown Victoria the Strath Ale Wine and Spirit Merchants is looking for a sales associate to join our team of knowledgeable liquor industry professionals.Our store is open from 10am to 11pm. Shifts include a mix of days and evenings (mostly evenings). Candidates must be available to work weekends and holidays. Starting wage is $15.00 (with room to increase depending on performance and experience).Duties include but not limited to:

  • providing an outstanding shopping experience by exceeding our customer's needs and expectations
  • maintaining product knowledge
  • respond to customer inquiries
  • providing recommendations to meet customer needs and upselling to increase sales
  • cashier functions, processing timely and accurate customer purchase transactions (in-store and on the webstore)
  • adhering to all company policies and legal requirements
  • ensuring stock levels are maintained- restocking and rotating product inventory
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Valid Serving it Right Certificate, required
  • Top-notch customer service skills
  • Knowledge of wine/beer/spirits, and a strong desire to learn
  • Previous liquor store or retail experience is an asset
  • must be able to lift 40lbs and stand for long periods of time
