Job Description

National Coordinator, Bilingual Development SupportJDRF is the largest non-profit organization in the world that is exclusively focused on type 1 diabetes (T1D). While we wait for cures, we also fund ground-breaking research that seeks to improve the lives of people with T1D.JDRF is growing our team to support our ambitious plans to raise more funds than ever to accelerate research towards cures and innovative and life-changing therapies for people living with T1D.We’re currently seeking a Bilingual National Coordinator to join our Development team in this newly created role. This position will be responsible for providing coordination and administrative support to the Development (fundraising) team, including data reporting and analytics as well as supporting tele-fundraising, donor stewardship, and recognition. The National Coordinator will act as an FRDJ ambassador and provide excellent customer service to our French-speaking supporters.Heres what you would have the opportunity to do:

  • Provide excellent customer service to supporters by responding to inquiries on the FRDJ general phone line and received to the general FRDJ email inbox
  • Support all French requests for the In-Memory & In-Honour cards programs
  • Support the translation of invoices and provide tax receipts to French-speaking supporters
  • Provide telephone support for fundraising by making phone calls to past and current French-speaking event participants, encouraging their support of the events
  • Produce, maintain, and verify a range of regular weekly, monthly and annual reports (ie fundraising results, revenue and forecast information, pipeline and dashboards)
  • Using our donor database/CRM (ClearView), execute data queries, maintain data integrity and donor lists through tracking and monitoring of actions
  • Coordinate donor thank you calls, notes, and Research Update reports, to support Regional (event fundraising) teams
  • Provide general administrative support to the VP, Development and Regional Directors, including employee expense report coordination, helping support meeting coordination, and preparing presentations for internal and external meetings

  • Bilingual in French and English is required, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages
  • High proficiency using a CRM database with ability to create reports using excel and/or from a CRM database, conduct analysis, and provide recommendations
  • 2-3 years of relevant administrative work experience, and college diploma or certificate preferably in fundraising, non-profit management, database administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in a not-for-profit/charity would be an asset
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft Office tools (Office 365), specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Able to work independently and also collaboratively within a team environment
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Able to handle confidential information with tact and professionalism
  • Solutions-oriented mindset, practicing excellent judgment and problem solving
  • Able to maintain attention-to-detail while working with multiple and/or competing projects and deadlines
  • Flexibility to work some irregular hours, including occasional evenings and weekends as required (generally to support donor/fundraising events)
