Job Description

The Strathcona Hotel in Victoria British Columbia is looking for a nighttime houseman to support the bar, restaurant, and hotel staff in maintaining cleanliness that creates a comfortable and welcoming environment.Shifts currently needed are: 1. Friday to Monday nights from 6:00pm-2:30amDuties and Responsibilities

  • Sanitizing and disinfecting all high touch surfaces
  • Cleaning of all biohazards
  • Cleaning up spills and broken glass messes
  • Laundry of napkins for restaurant and bars
  • Removal of trash
  • Sweep and clean lobby, restaurant, and hotel areas
  • Check all public washrooms and restock and clean when needed
  • Vacuum carpets and floor care duties
  • Collect garbage and recycling
  • Helping with janitorial duties or housekeeping duties if needed
  • Helping run the dishwashers for glassware behind the bars

  • Positive attitude
  • Laundry and housekeeping experience preferred
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Must be able to lift 40lbs
  • Comfortable standing for long periods of time
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and cleanliness
  • Must work well as a team
