• Part Time, Friday & Saturday Nights: Midnight to 8:00am

Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Office Manager, the Overnight Concierge assists with a variety of tasks within the residence. The Overnight Concierge will be assigned in areas of administration, emergency response, cleaning, building security and non-emergent assistance for independent residents. Carries out duties in an efficient, friendly and courteous manner and demonstrates a respectful and caring approach to Berwick residents and staff. This position is responsible for “Emergency Response” for the building and its occupants. May be assigned housekeeping duties and/or minor maintenance duties as required.The successful candidate will be a flexible individual who enjoys multitasking and displays high energy, with the ability to encourage a comfortable, home-like environment for residents, team members, families, and visitors. Encourages and adheres to a holistic philosophy of wellness, recognizing that each resident is capable of, to varying degrees; making decisions about his/her life and is a partner in the decision-making process.Emergency Response Duties: The Night Concierge responds to all emergency calls from residents and assesses the need for medical assistance when necessary. Also maintains responsibility for building security by handling building emergencies and conducting security rounds.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Valid Emergency First Aid Certificate, CPR, and AED training
• Preference given to those with RCA/HCA certification

• Experience in the field of retirement living, assisted living, and residential care an asset
• Ability to work well with seniors, their families, and the public
• Tact, sound judgment, confidentiality, patience, reliability, and the ability to treat staff and residents with respect and dignity
• Demonstrates a solid understanding of the intent, philosophy, and core values of assisted living when planning and delivering personal service and hospitality services
• Ability to work independently but still be accountable to a team
• Good observational, communication, and recording skills
• WHMIS Certification
• Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently and understands verbal and written instructions
• Good interpersonal skills and an ability to effectively interact with the various individuals involved in providing holistic care and service in a flexible resident focused environment
• Must be in good health, physically able to perform repetitive tasks, lift, squat, bend, stand, and walk as required to perform the duties of the position

Pay: Pay starts at $20.20 per hour, plus $2.00 night shift differential per hour. in addition is $3.20 per hour Provincial Wage Levelling top-up. Wage will reflect accordingly for those who are RCA/HCA certified.Note: *A criminal record check is required pursuant to the Criminal Records Review Act for working with vulnerable adults.
