Keep reading to find out if this role is meant for you!What youll be doing...The Partsperson maintains and controls an inventory of materials for use by BC Transit’s maintenance shops, including issuing stores material to maintenance personnel, ordering stock from suppliers, preparing requests to stock new items and monitoring re-order points, receiving, unloading, verifying and storing stock shipments from suppliers, shipping and receiving items to and from the Municipal Systems, promptly and accurately entering materials transactions to the Vehicle Maintenance System. This person will also perform inventory counts.You will be performing a variety of administrative tasks to help the stockroom function smoothly including maintaining files, preparing forms and requisitions.This Casual Partsperson position will be based out of our Langford Transit Centre (LTC) or Victoria Transit Centre (VTC).To view the full job description for this role please see the attached.What youll bring to the table...We value lifelong learners and have found the following combination of education and experience allows people to be successful in this role:

• Grade 12 graduation
• Trade Certificate of Qualification (TQ) “Parts Person” or equivalent Red Seal Parts Certification
• Class 5 driver’s license

The physical requirements of the role...

• Ability to manually handle between 10 kg and 20 kg on a frequent basis, and up to 40 kg occasionally.
