JOB DESCRIPTIONReporting to the Manager of Standards and Innovation, the Process and Documentation Specialist will be responsible for developing and guiding Standards and Innovation Programs with respect to the Operations Division’s: internal processes and documentation; technical direction of innovation; KPI, metric and dashboards creation, data integrity and automation. Coordinating with all BC Transit departments as a liaison, sharing ideas, implementation support, and viability feedback on projects.POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIESFacilitate Organizational Change for the Victoria and Regional Transit SystemsSupports the development and implementation of standards documentation;Responsible for the development and integration of KPI’s, metrics, dashboards, reports and presentations, utilizing multiple software platforms and Business Intelligence tools;Define and develop best practices, procedures, and update/document Standard Operating Procedures;Develop training for Standards and Innovation Program for Operations that align with BC Transit training standards;Collaborate with other BC Transit departments to develop an integration strategy focused on accessibility and simplicity for local and regional operations;Stay current on best practices and emerging opportunities that supports future opportunities or initiatives;Assist the Bus Stop Project Coordinator in defining/implementing/integrating platform system for online requests of upgrades/maintenance/new bus stops;Represent the Standards Department in internal and external committees, workshops and presentations as required; andPerforms related duties as assigned, such being items of a minor nature which do not affect the value of the job.Job Requirements:KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSKnowledge of business intelligence, data management, and reporting toolsBusiness analytics, KPI creation, documentation and reportingProject Management experience leading or being an integral part of large transformational projectsEffective Change Management skillsExperience in Technical WritingPast experience in the development, documentation, and implementation of standard proceduresLean and/or Six Sigma knowledge is an assetUnderstanding of User Experience (UX)Proficiency with Trapeze, SMI, and PPM an assetExcellent customer service skillsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEDegree in Engineering, Computer Science or other related fields or equivalent combination of education and experience3-5 years experienceADDITIONAL INFORMATIONRemote work may be requiredTravel will be requiredFlexible availability to meet the departmental requirements needed to understand the system as a whole whether late nights or travel as deemed necessaryThis position requires the completion of a Criminal Record Check and/or Vulnerable Sector SearchTesting and assessments may be included as part of the recruitment processAn eligibility list may be established for future vacanciesCandidates must be legally eligible to work in CanadaA Post Offer Employment Test (POET) may be requiredIf you have a disability which requires accommodation during any stage of our recruitment process, please let us know how we can assist youBC TRANSIT OFFERSLife InsuranceEmployee Family Assistance Program (EFAP)Vacation (based on the terms outlined in the appropriate collective agreement or exempt policy handbook)Extended Health BenefitsPension PlanHealth and Wellness Spending accountEmployee fitness centre, at both the Victoria and Langford depotsA complimentary BC Transit bus pass, plus taxable dependent passesCareer development and advancement opportunitiesSocial ClubEmployee Recognition Program – Recognizing Excellent Values (REV)We believe that diversity of thought and experience fuels innovation.
