Keep reading to find out if this role is meant for you!What youll be doing...The Strategic Talent Attraction Specialist plays an essential role in the design, implementation and execution of BC Transit’s overall talent acquisition strategy. Our ideal candidate is someone with prior experience in finding untapped talent for unionized organizations, and driving company growth while helping individuals find promising careers. You will live in the present but always have an eye on the future. Youll specifically be:

  • Leveraging your skill in full-cycle recruitment to develop strategies to effectively fill the organization’s vacancies
  • Acting as a talent scout, effectively communicating BC Transit’s mission, vision and values to attract high end talent
  • Designing and executing creative, multi-channel opportunities and strategies aimed at sourcing passive and active candidates
  • Providing expertise and guidance to People Leaders in job description development, job posting, screening and interview and selection techniques
  • Have a demonstrated ability to effectively interpret and apply collective agreements to ensure best practice in all recruitment activities
  • Recruiting with an eye towards building pipelines of qualified candidates for future positions
  • Managing external relationships aimed at promoting BC Transit as an Employer of choice
What youll bring to the table...We value lifelong learners and have found the following combination of education & experience allows people to be successful in this role, though an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered:
  • 5 years experience in recruiting within complex unionized environments or Public Sector organizations, with a proven ability to source talent
  • Demonstrated recruitment success in complex industries with preference given to those with experience recruiting in the skilled Mechanical trades, Project Management or Asset Management (Infrastructure, Capital Projects, Fleet Engineering & Maintenance, Electric Vehicle or Low Carbon) space
  • Ability to speak to business objectives and workforce needs using metrics and data
  • A demonstrated ability to partner with Hiring Managers & other organizational stakeholders to design, refine, and implement innovative recruiting strategies for the current and future states of the organization
  • Demonstrated success building recruitment channels that attract a diverse workforce
  • Expertise with tools like LinkedIn Recruiter, Applicant Tracking Systems (SuccesFactors considered an asset) as well as other Social platforms
