Job Description :STRATEGY & COMMUNITY RELATIONS COORDINATORVictoriaWere proud to be one of the largest ferry operators in the world. For 60 years, we have been dedicated to providing safe and efficient travel to our customers and we are looking for a key member of our Strategic Planning and Community Engagement team to support our continued growth.Robust community engagement is becoming increasingly important in BC Ferries’ decision making process. Reporting to the Manager, Community Engagement, you will perform a critical support role in designing, executing, and reporting on the organization’s engagement activities. As part of your role, you will provide assistance with the creation of engagement materials including content development for stakeholder communications, display boards, infographics, webpages, and engagement surveys. You will also assist with the creation, design, printing, and distribution of promotional materials to support engagement events including posters, postcards, digital signs, social media posts, and terminal and vessel signage.Supporting the execution of engagement activities will also be part of your role. You will assist with the coordination of meeting and event logistics including virtual and in-person meetings, workshops, and pop-up events. You will also monitor Q&A forums, project correspondence, and online engagement feedback. Utilizing an evidence-based approach, you will assist with gathering customer feedback, analyzing data to identify areas for improvement, and drafting reports on findings.Your background qualifications round out your experience and include:

  • Minimum 2 years experience working in public relations, community engagement or corporate/government communications
  • Experience developing internal and external print and online communications materials including website content, presentations, project updates etc.
  • Experience with organizing and managing community engagement activities such as open houses, online meetings and surveys, workshops etc.
  • IAP2 engagement training considered an asset
  • Strong coordination and project management skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
