Guidelines and requirements for in-office presence are determined by operational need and vary according to the unique needs of each business area.The opportunityWe are seeking a System Administrator - Storage/Backup to join our team in VICTORIA, British Columbia, Canada.The System Administrator - Storage/Backup manages the operations of computer systems related to operating systems, servers, storage, and end-user computing devices in a hybrid environment (on-premises and cloud). In this role you will work closely with both end users and other cross functional support teams, as well as configuring, identifying, troubleshooting, and solving computing related issues that impact business operations. The System Administrator - Storage/Backup proactively seeks to identify new technologies and leverage optimization techniques to ensure the systems operate as required. This role is for a hands-on, pragmatic IT professional who is eager to join a dynamic team to modernize our systems and technology.What do you need to succeedMust have

• Bachelors degree in computer science, computer engineering, electronic engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of five years of computer systems administration and operations experience, including:
  • Installing, maintaining, securing, and monitoring computer systems.
  • Resolving computing systems incidents and problems in a complex infrastructure environment.
  • Virtualization e.g., VMware
• A minimum of three years of experience working within operational and project cross functional teams of staff, contractors, and external service providers.
• A minimum of three years of experience with backup and storage using Netapp and Dell Data domain (installation, maintenance, and patching, etc.)
• A minimum of two years of experience designing and configuring computer systems (servers, end-user computing devices).

Nice to have

• Preference may be given to candidates with
  • Certification in Netapp.
  • Experience with Dell Data domain.
  • Experience with Azure cloud storage.
