POSITION OVERVIEWThis position requires someone with a positive attitude and great work ethic, combined with experience in carpentry and general construction. We want you to take responsibility for your role, while striving for collaboration. You’ll enjoy working with a great team that can react and make decisions quickly, while expanding your skillset as we continue to grow.DUTIESThe Lead Hand reports to the Sr. Site Superintendent/Operations Manager and is a vital component of the Design Build Services team. In this position, you will be responsible for various tasks on the worksite, while complying with all safe work practices, policies and processes.Duties include:
  • Carpentry tasks
  • Clear understanding of construction practices
  • Operate various tools and equipment
  • Direction and control of street traffic
  • Any tasks as assigned by the Site Superintendent or management team
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Construction experience required
  • Work on tools is required
  • A trade qualification or carpentry ticket is considered an asset
SKILLSThe ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Ability to perform physical labour on a regular basis
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Concerned about accuracy and thoroughness
  • Inclined to be "hands-on" with attention to, and organization of details
  • Driver’s license an asset but not required
