Job Description

On behalf of our valued client based in Vancouver, Ignite Technical Resources is seeking a Technical Artist to join our client #39;s team.Our client is looking for a few skilled game developers to join their team and help them bring some of their most prized IPs to market. Our client is a team with a true passion for game development and a long history of delivering superior results.Role:You are a gamer at heart. You’re comfortable delving into both script and code. You understand the importance of being able to translate from art to tech and back again, so our clients #39; teams can leverage the toolsets and work together to get the iconic art into the game.Responsibilities:

  • Research, define, extend, and maintain production pipelines, processes, and workflows
  • Liaise effectively both internally and with our client; drive collaboration and add value to the project
  • Troubleshoot issues; resolve them: invent or build robust, quality technical implementations
  • Work closely with artists and designers to develop procedural systems and improve their workflows
  • Participate in art asset reviews to help identify technical concerns or risks
  • Understand, communicate, and prioritize the needs of our clients
Requirements:
  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience in computer-generated 3D art
  • Solid understanding of 3D math
  • Intimate knowledge of Houdini and/or procedural asset creation
  • High Proficiency with Maya
  • Familiar with artist workflows and processes
  • Good understanding of algorithm design and their inherent complexity
  • Proficient scripting/programming experience in Python, PyQT/PySide
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and extensible code with attention to reusability
  • Ability to effectively manage relationships with external clients
  • Enthusiasm and initiative
  • Excellent spoken and written communication
Preferred Experience:
  • Industry experience working and shipping AAA titles
  • Programming experience with C++
  • Experience in designing or creating world-building tool sets
