Job Description

Tundra Oil & Gas is a Manitoba-based oil and gas exploration and production company and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Winnipeg-based James Richardson & Sons, Limited. We are committed to working together and to getting everyone home safe every day.Tundra is seeking a Part Time Administrative Assistant based out of our Virden, Manitoba office. This position will work a set schedule – Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 7 hours/day excluding a one-hour lunch break. This position is eligible for benefits.This position is responsible for assisting with organizing and coordinating office operations and procedures, while ensuring organizational effectiveness and efficiency. The ideal individual will be able to work with a considerable degree of independent accountability in support of the office’s core functions and activities. Reporting to the Office Manager, some specific duties and responsibilities of the Administrative Assistant include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage general correspondence and inquiries:
    • answer general phone inquiries, sort incoming mail, faxes and deliveries for distribution; prepare and send outgoing mail and Courier packages, manage reception email inbox
    • organize/tidy common area
  • Maintain and replenish inventory:
    • ordering office supplies, stationary, kitchen supplies
  • Assist with facility management portion of onboarding/offboarding employees
    • update phone listing, order name plates
  • Assist with coordinating food/beverage as requested for meetings, training
  • Completes invoice coding and verification/Operations spreadsheet updates
    • verify/code invoices for applicable departments
  • Assist with corporate event and team building planning
  • Monthly hydro meter reporting
  • Reconcile monthly Petty Cash statement
  • Provides other administrative support to various departments as assigned by the Office Manager
  • Other duties as assigned/required
Candidates for this position will possess the following qualifications and competencies:
  • High school diploma with Office Administration education or equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum 1-3 years’ related office administrative experience preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite program, particularly Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook preferred Motivated and enthusiastic team player
  • Excellent customer service abilities and professional demeanor
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Very effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and ability to follow established policies and procedures
