Job Description

  • Oversee operations and provides leadership to the Bulk Petroleum and Lubricant team, as well as Gas Bar/C-Stores in Virden and Melita. The Division will support the teams to ensure the achievement of goals and objectives in alignment with the Co-op’s vision and strategic direction.
  • Actively contribute to organizational decision-making and establish, implement, and maintain strategic plans and policies. Approves departmental budgets and recommends capital needs, services agreements, and purchase contracts.
  • Responsible for a team of Managers including recruitment, performance management, coaching, and development.
  • Lead a team in the attainment of budgeted goals related to sales, margin, expenses, and inventory.
  • Promotes and ensures adherence to brand and merchandising standards, marketing efforts, image standards, safety, and asset protection.
  • Develops, plans, and implements programs and operational policies, and best practices.
  • Leads complex projects from conception to completion.
  • Researches and provides recommendations to Senior Management on trends and strategies for the Co-operative.
Who you are:You are looking for a career with a trusted, local company and you have the following experience:
  • 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in a retail environment
  • 5+ years of experience leading technical, professional, or management staff.
  • Experienced in interpreting and applying an understanding of key financial indicators to make better business decisions including controlling operational costs, maximizing operational efficiency, and improving sales and growth margin
  • Experience using business and industry knowledge to advance the organizations goals.
  • Motivational with the ability to paint a compelling picture of the vision and strategy that encourages others to action.
  • Strong team builder that encourages the team to apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals.
  • Ensures accountability by having the ability to hold themselves and others accountable to meet commitments.
