Candidates will not be solicited for incomplete or missing information.DutiesWorking as a Visitor Service Team Leader II for Prince Albert National Park, you will be a valuable member of the Visitor Experience team and will be responsible to plan, implement and coordinate visitor services programs and operations to provide visitors of the park with opportunities to appreciate, learn about and enjoy Prince Albert National Park and its natural and/or cultural resources and understand their significance to Canada.We are looking to hire an outgoing, responsible, team focused Visitor Service Team Leader to co-supervise a team of approximately 23 persons at various locations across Prince Albert National Park (Park Entry Gates, Campgrounds kiosks, the Visitor Information Centre and the Nature Centre).   • A minimum of 2 years post-secondary education or acceptable combination of education, training and experience relevant to the position.
Degree equivalency
  • Experience in anticipating/meeting public needs; resolving complaints, anticipating/detecting incidents and finding solutions;
  • Experience in planning, implementing and/or providing quality services to the public in the tourism field;
  • Experience in providing leadership, either in supervising employees or through other means;
  • Experience in revenue collection and operating and troubleshooting Point of Sales (POS) systems.

  • Experience in the operation and troubleshooting of PCRS and Tri City systems;
  • Experience with outdoor recreational activities in a park setting (e.g. hiking, camping, paddling and back country);

Conditions of employmentThe position requires the incumbent to:
  • Security Screening: Obtain and maintain Reliability Status Clearance;
  • Obtain and maintain valid class 5 driver #39;s license or equivalent;
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Sit during extended periods (50-70% of the day);
  • Be exposed to variable weather conditions when moving between facilities and working outdoors;
  • Be exposed to stress when responding to fluctuating, unpredictable visitor demands and requirements;
  • Co-supervise a team of approximately 23 persons at various locations within the Prince Albert National Park;
  • Wear a Parks Canada uniform and abide by the uniform policy;
  • Work shift work, and/or evenings, and/or weekends and/or statutory holidays and/or provincial/territorial holidays.
