  • High School graduation or equivalent.
  • Computer skill would be an asset.
  • Working with chronic disease patients, focus on patient and family centered care.
  • Experience working chronic disease population considered an asset.
  • Good work record with the ability to attend work on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team approach.
  • Demonstrates initiative, good judgment and the ability to set priorities.
  • Highly motivated and work efficiently.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing education as required.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills.
  • High regard for confidentiality.
  • Ability to perform all duties of the job and work in a face paced environment
  • Written and spoken competence in English required
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Orders, receives, distributes and replenishes general inventory, supplies and linens.
  • Prepares packs for starting/stopping dialysis
  • Removes soiled linens and garbage.
  • Cleans hemodialysis equipment and prepares chairs as needed
  • Folds linen and stocks shelves and carts.
  • Cleans, disinfects, stores equipment such as stretchers, IV pumps and poles, procedure trays, stethoscopes and monitors
  • Assists with cleaning isolation units and infectious areas.
  • Performs personal services for patients such as serving snacks, serving and collecting food trays and interacting with patients.
  • Porters patient as required.
  • Spot Cleans and disinfects areas as needed.
  • Delivers specimens, medications, patient records, mail, and other items as required.
  • Assists with clerical duties where required.
  • Shows others how to perform tasks or duties as part of the departmental orientation.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area.
