Leis Pet Distributing is a privately owned company with warehouses and offices located in Wellesley, Ontario and Moncton, New Brunswick. As a full line distributor of pet food and accessories, we deliver to a network of over 800 independent Retail Pet Food Stores throughout central and south-western Ontario, northern and eastern Ontario and in the Maritime Provinces. We recently celebrated our 27th year in business. Over the past couple of years, we have expanded our warehouse facility to 125,000 square feet. Come and join a dynamic, fun, pet loving team and help us build the future!We are currently seeking a high-energy, people-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to support the Human Resources Manager with many projects.Location: Hybrid – work from home and also onsite in Wellesley, ONA Snapshot of the job: Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to ensure the effective and efficient operations of the Human Resources (HR) and Health & Safety functions. The Human Resources Coordinator will support departmental projects in the areas of recruitment & selection, new hire onboarding, policy enhancements, and employee engagement, compensation & benefits and communication.Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide support on various HR and Health & Safety projects and initiatives such as recruitment, employee onboarding, employee engagement, drafting HR & Health and Safety policies, etc.
  • Administrative support such as the creation of various letters and communications
  • Organizing and scanning of employee paperwork
  • Provide support for employee engagement and wellness events and programs
  • Creating/updating job descriptions
  • Creation of PowerPoint presentations for training/ communication purposes
  • Supporting HR Projects

What you will bring:
  • Currently pursuing or has recently completed post-secondary education in Human Resources
  • Completion of a Bachelors Degree
  • Above average communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong computer skills – MS Office including MS PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Superior time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
