We’re united by a shared commitment to excellent and equitable health care.Position Overview Provide clinical nutrition services to the resident of Middlechurch Home, according to professional standards of practice. Provide quality client care based on nutrition care process: screening and referral, assessment, diagnosis, intervention and evaluation. Experience

  • Two (2) years clinical experience preferably in a long term care setting.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Bachelor of Human Ecology.
  • Graduate of an internship program which has been accredited by Partnership for Dietetic Education and Practice (PDEP) or planned practicum as requested by the College of Dietitians of Manitoba.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Must be a member of the College of Dietitians of Manitoba
Qualifications and Skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge and application of medical nutrition therapies.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with various levels of personnel, both internally and externally and within an inter-disciplinary environment.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and respond with initiative.
  • Demonstrated planning, organizational and time managements skills including the ability to prioritize workload.
  • Must be able to function with minimum direction.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and critical analysis skills.
  • Ability to use professional judgment to adapt and apply evidenced based guidelines, protocols and professional standards of care to new and changing needs of others.
  • General knowledge of food and nutrient analysis.
  • Ability to function in a computerized environment.
  • Practices with the professional standards and the ethical, legislative and legal parameters of the profession (eg. the act and code of ethics of the College of Dietitians of Manitoba).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in English; both orally and in writing.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be in good physical and mental health and be able to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time without resting.
  • Must be able to work under stress and constraints.
  • May encounter aggressive and/or agitated individuals.
  • May encounter exposure to disease, radiation, toxic material, noise, allergens, etc.
This term position may end earlier as outlined in your collective agreement.This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.0 EFT. The WRHA legal entity includes Churchill Health Centre, Deer Lodge Centre, Grace Hospital, Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Pan Am Clinic, River Park Gardens, Victoria General Hospital, WRHA corporate programs, and WRHA community health services.
