Pembina Hills School Division invites applications for the position of Associate Principal for Ecole Westlock Elementary School. Duties are to commence the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year.The DivisionPembina Hills School Division provides education to approximately 3300 students in 15 community schools, including two Hutterite colony schools, two outreach schools and a non-denominational Christian school in north central Alberta. The staff at this dynamic school create a sense of belonging for students and staff alike. Operating with an inclusionary model, École Westlock Elementary School offers full programming for Special Needs students.The PositionThe Associate Principal for Ecole Westlock Elementary School will be supported by an engaging, dedicated team of professionals and community including school council, school staff, the Superintendent and Senior Administration.Qualifications:Permanent Alberta Teacher CertificationWillingness to work collaboratively as a member of a professional learning communityThe ability to work effectively with diverse students and parent groupsStrong evidence of instructional leadershipPrevious Principal and/or Associate principal experience would be considered an assetIndividuals must have a Master of Education degree or a plan to pursue their Master of Education degreeThe Successful Candidate will:Have a student first focus and a belief that all children can learn and succeedHave a proven effective teaching and/or lead teacher experienceBe willing to participate in extra-curricular activitiesCommunicate a clear and focused mission that is shared and inspiringEstablish a climate of high expectations for successCommit to frequent monitoring of student and staff progressBe comfortable with timetabling and schedulingBe able to maintain and create positive home-school relationsBe a “team player” and a contributing member of the Superintendent’s educational teamBe able to motivate and inspire othersPromote and use technology as a teaching toolContribute to the school and communityValue and understand the importance of the Board’s Education Plan, School Education Plan, Professional Learning Communities, and Assessment for and of Learning.Have an understanding of purposeful inclusion and individual program planningYour application package should highlight leadership, teaching and administrative experience.
