Job Description

Part - Time Cook Pembina Lodge, Westlock, AB Homeland Housing is seeking an energetic, motivated Cook who is flexible for all shifts and willing to workdays and weekends, in a 24-hour staffed facility.Job Duties:

  • Responsible ensuring standard department policies, procedures, and safe food handling techniques are used at all times.
  • Participates in and ensures proper preparation, delivery, and service of food by food services workers to ensure safety of residents, tenants, staff, and guests.
  • Practices and maintains cleanliness and sanitation according to required standards and checklists as required by Alberta Health Services, Public Health, and Homeland Housing policies and procedures.
  • Respond to emergency situations and individual resident needs or concerns as required. Delegate, initiate, and complete tasks with limited supervision.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Skills required:
  • Two (2) years cooking experience preferably in a hospitality or seniors supportive living setting is required.
  • Demonstrates initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Work and interact positively with seniors and fellow employees.
  • Must be mentally and physically fit to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
  • Must be responsible for maintaining self-wellness and reduced absenteeism.
This position offers:
  • Wage Rate: $21.94 - $ 22.95
  • Primarily Days (8:30 AM – 5:30 PM)
  • Rotation includes weekdays, weekends, and Statuary holidays
  • 128 hours in a four (4) week rotation
  • Evening and weekend shift premiums
