Your Opportunity:The Supervisor, Patient food Service (PFS) is based at the Westlock Healthcare Center. It is a dynamic Nutrition Services operation that provides meals to 120 Long Term Care residents, 45 Acute Care residents and meals for staff, visitors and families. As the Supervisor, PFS you will be tasked with monitoring the daily site operations, providing clear direction and guidance to front line staff in the production and services of menu items while adhering to the health and safety standards. You will have the opportunity to be a member of the supervisory team which works together to set long term goals, recognizing potential areas for process improvement with customer satisfaction at the forefront and acts as the key contact to site administration and patient care for matters relating to Patient Food Services. You will also create an environment of learning for our frontline staff, encouraging teams to work towards accomplishing the strategies for cost saving measures, improving service delivery, enhancing meal quality and continuously monitoring and adhering to department standards within a caring environment. Specific Accountabilities include: Provision of frontline staff direction and supervision of patient and food service operations. Manage food, supply and labour expenses to achieve financial targets. Participate in the development and implementation of menus to meet standards set by Nutritional Food Services. Promote quality improvement and staff engagement in operational problem solving. Participate in the development and implementation of menus to meet standards set by Nutritional Food Services.Description:Reporting to the Manager, Patient Food Services the Supervisor has direct responsibility for maintaining operations at the site level, aligning AHS, Nutrition and Food Services, and site priorities with the delivery of Patient Food Services. Provision of frontline staff direction. Completion of human resources activities. Manages food, supply and labour expenses to achieve financial targets. Ensures safe work practices and conditions. Participates in the development and implementation of menus. Promotes quality improvement to guidelines, standards and regulatory directives. The Supervisor position is an introduction to the operations management stream and could lead to other opportunities within Food Services Management.
