Job Description

Line Cook - Cook - $25-33/hrLe Duc de Lorraine is proud to offer you the highest quality products and services since our opening in 1952.We are looking for a cook to prepare food according to the chef #39;s specifications and to prepare the items for the menu. The line cook is responsible for assisting the chef and sous chef with their daily tasks. We offer:

  • Remuneration consisting of a salary of $25-33 per hour depending on your experience and skills.
  • 40% off food and pastries.
  • Permanent full-time job.
  • Fixed work schedule (selected shifts).
  • Accessible by public transport (Côtes-des-Neiges metro).

Requirements:
  • Experience as a chef, restaurant cook or kitchen assistant.
  • Excellent knowledge of different cooking techniques, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
  • Accuracy and speed of execution of the various assigned tasks.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices.
  • Culinary school diploma (preferred).
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and fill stations with all necessary products.
  • Prepare food for service (cut vegetables, cut meat, prepare sauces).
  • Cooks elements of dishes in cooperation with other members of the kitchen staff.
  • Follow the instructions of the chef or assistant chef.
Other responsibilities:
  • Store the merchandise correctly.
  • Ensure that dishes are scented on time.
  • Check that the dishes are of good quality.
  • Comply with nutrition and hygiene regulations and safety standards.
  • Ensure you have a positive and professional approach with colleagues and clients.
