Job Description

Wetaskiwin Co-op is committed to providing essential services to our community. To help us continue this important work, we are hiring a permanent full-time Building Project Sales Consultant at our very busy Project Center located at 4707 40th Ave in Wetaskiwin, Alberta. This is a full-time permanent position eligible for benefits.Who we are:Co-op does business differently. To learn more about who we are and how you can help bring our brand to life, visit us at www.wetaskiwinco-op.crsWhat you #39;ll do:Reporting to the Building Products Manager, the successful candidate is a self-motivated individual who has strong attention to detail. Construction and/or home renovation experience would be an asset. Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Deliver the Wetaskiwin Co-op guest services commitment
  • Work in collaboration with other team members to serve our customer #39;s day-to-day needs and support the overall operation of the Project Center
  • Help foster a culture of teamwork where everyone feels empowered with knowledge and a strong communication network
  • Provide project development guidance with customers that are considering all types of construction projects
  • Actively seek opportunities in our trading area by connecting with builders and contractors in person by completing site visits and gaining a valuable customer rapport with current and potential clients
  • Develop ways to know and understand what is going on in the local and regional construction market to stay in front of potential sales opportunities
  • Effectively manage building projects from start to finish, ensuring all contractors are provided with the supplies required and assisting them with staying within budget
  • Have a confident understanding of the lumber markets and the market conditions that affect the overall operation of the lumber department
Who you are:You are looking for a career in Building Projects and:
  • You have the passion and desire to deliver service, for finding a solution for customers need, and to develop your customer service skillset
  • Having knowledge about building codes, the lumber and construction industry, ability to read blueprints and various drawings will be an asset. However, we will consider candidates who display a strong desire to learn
  • You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives
  • You quickly prioritize individual responsibilities, and effectively manage time under deadlines
  • You #39;re honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do
  • You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and possess strong organizational skills
  • You are eager to improve your skillset and be open to advancement
  • You have completed a post-secondary program with a focus on business, or construction
  • You have excellent Microsoft Office Skills and are eager to learn Point of Sales and Project Planning programs (Seljax)
  • You have 5+ years of relevant customer service experience, 3+ years of leadership experience would be an asset
  • You possess a valid class 5 driver #39;s licence
