Job Description

Prairie Sky Co-operative is hiring an Asset Protection and Safety Manager to join our team in Weyburn, Saskatchewan.Who we are:Co-op does business differently. To learn more about who we are and how you can help bring our brand to life, visit us at prairieskyco-op.crs What you’ll do:The Asset Protection and Safety Manager is responsible for the strategic direction and leadership of the overall Asset Protection and Health and Safety Strategies for Prairie Sky Co-op and its eight locations, which is focused on safeguarding our people, property, and the Co-op Brand. This includes:

  • Collaborate with HR and develop policies, procedures, and manuals as it relates to Asset Protection and Health and Safety.
  • Ensuring that all company policies, local, provincial and federal laws are adhered to in the execution of all internal and external investigations or inquires.
  • Overseeing the administration of the company Occupational Health & Safety program.
    • Collaborating with each location and/or department to ensure proper development and monitoring of safe work practices and procedures, inspections, incident investigations, hazard and risk analysis, health and safety training and vendor management.
    • Providing leadership to workplace health and safety committees,
    • Conduct safety audit and reporting as required.
  • Work collaboratively with Senior Leadership Team and Department Managers to ensure all objectives relating to Asset Protection and Health and Safety are clearly communicated and executed.
  • Effectively and efficiently managing the development and building of relationships along with ensuring the integration of strategic plans with company operations both in the short and long term.

  • You have an Occupational Health & Safety Certificate and/or Commerce or Business Degree
  • You have 6+ years of relevant, related experience; retail experience would be an asset
  • Any of the following designations:
    • Loss Prevention Designation (CPP, CFI, CFE, LPQ, or LPC)
    • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP)
    • Certified Health & Safety Consultant (CHSC)
  • A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office programs (including Word, Outlook, and Excel); you possess skills to develop spreadsheets and documents and desire to incorporate new technology into your work
  • You’re honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do
  • You have excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to translate complex information to different audiences
  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • You have effective planning and organization skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
