When you join Energy Safety Canada, you are part of a team committed to getting workers home safely every day.What is the opportunity:Reporting to the Regional Manager of Saskatchewan Operations, the Program Manager will provide expertise, knowledge and leadership to Energy Safety Canada clients at the field level on best practices in Health and Safety for the industry. This role will be responsible to identify client needs and link them to the resources available through Energy Safety Canada or other organizations.​ This role will be based in our Weyburn, Saskatchewan office and will be for a limited term of 12 months.What will you do:

  • Responsible for leading on-site safety consultations and initiatives to assist clients in enhancing their safety programs and minimizing worker illness and injuries
  • Coordinate and present at regional health and safety workshops and attend industry and Energy Safety Canada events to help promote Energy Safety Canada’s services
  • Analyze provincial WCB claim statistics to identify employers requiring assistance in identifying illness and injury causation and provide onsite information in ways to mitigate. Mentor new Saskatchewan staff and other Energy Safety Canada colleagues requiring training concerning our provincial tasks and WCB projects
  • Participate with, and advise, the Saskatchewan Advisory Committee and the Saskatchewan Health and Safety Information Group at quarterly meetings
  • Stay abreast of new technologies and safety management systems and direct clients on how to build health and safety programs, develop operational plans, support the development of safety professionals as well as promote Certificate of Recognition (COR) and Small Employer Certificate of Recognition (SECOR) programs
  • Provide support to Energy Safety Canada Management on daily operations, development of budgets, operation plans, reporting and preparation for Advisory Committee/Information group meetings
  • Provide administrative support to the ESC SK team, as required
  • Other duties as required
What you need to succeed:
  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety
  • Working towards or have completed a recognized safety designation (CRSP) or OH&S certificate
  • Certification as a safety auditor is considered a strong asset
  • 5 + years’ experience in Health, Safety, and Training or Auditing is required
  • Experience with the development of safety management and auditing programs
  • Operational experience working in oil and gas, or related setting is considered an asset
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proven coaching and mentorship skills
  • Good knowledge of health and safety management systems as well as audit protocols and techniques
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safety statistics and analysis and able to translate into plain language
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills and exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong facilitation and consensus building skills – demonstrates diplomacy and tact
  • Comfortable and confident with public speaking and delivering presentations
