Job Description

Nickle Lake Regional Park - ManagerYear-round salaried position - work at home October - AprilIn-office Mid April - October | Monday - Friday 9:00-4:00On-call all hours May-Sept NOTE: Due to the nature of this role, it is a job requirement to work weekends /holidays during the summer season. During the winter months, work schedule is flexible.Wage dependent on experienceNickle Lake Regional Park is seeking a campground manager. Interested persons will have excellent interpersonal skills, and can communicate with people at all levels. You are proficient or willing to learn booking systems, various computer software and apps, basic financials, payroll, employee relations, and more. You understand marketing and operating and what drives the success of a regional campground. You are friendly, helpful, customer service oriented, outdoorsy and thrive on change, and problem-solving, and love to be challenged.The campground manager will work cooperatively with the Board of Directors and provide direction to staff in achieving the customer service goals and objectives of the campground. Individuals must be able to build positive relationships with the Board of Directors, management team, contractors, seasonal campers, nightly campers, and daily visitors.Duties Include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for guests and employees
  • Daily walking the property and customer relations.
  • Ensure customer complaints are dealt with quickly, fairly, and respectfully
  • Hire, train and manage staff. Build an effective team.
  • Ensure all staff members understand goals, standards, and policies and comply with company policies and procedures that you develop in conjunction with the Board of Directors
  • Schedule and monitor shift coverage based on seasonal needs - including office, grounds, pool, activity coordinators, security
  • Participation in preparation of annual budget
  • Accounts payable and receivable
  • Bank deposits
  • Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded and tracked.
  • Ensure employee timekeeping and payroll activities are properly executed.
  • Work with accounting team to properly and efficiently provide all information for yearly Audit
  • Ensure information/reports are provided timely, accurate, and on target.
  • Procurement & sales of inventory, goods, and services
  • Ensure all campground activities are conducted in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Ensure that all campground facilities are maintained in a safe condition.
  • Plan/hire contractors for park maintenance and development
  • Marketing including upkeep of the website and social media
  • Applying for and completing grant applications such as SRPA and Canada Summer Job
  • Following all Public Health licensing for campground and pool
  • Monitoring mail, email, phone, and voicemails.
  • Maintain digital and physical files
  • Will plan and attend monthly Board meetings and weekly management meetings (May - September)
  • Attend appropriate conferences and keep up with tourism, Sask Parks, and Regional Park information.
  • Work with committees to plan and facilitate seasonal events and activities
