Job Description

Together, we are stronger and achieve more.Viterra is seeking a Customer Account Representative Trainee. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the promotion and sales of grain programs and services at the assigned facility.Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the procurement of grain over the counter or by contacting customers by phone to promote and/or buy grain.
  • Coordinate the movement of grain and related administrative requirements in conjunction with customers and operations staff.
  • Execute programs and achieves targets within assigned market centre and customer list.
  • Participate in establishing, maintaining and analyzing customer profiles and reports in order to identify and act upon trends, while considering the market needs of current, potential and new customers.
  • Develop and maintain effective business relationships.
  • Develop an understanding of the grain business including grain pipeline awareness, financial reporting and risk management.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Must possess good interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of modern farm practices and industry regulations.
  • Proven ability to work independently.
  • Must be willing to relocate.
Education and Qualifications:
  • Grade 12 or recognized equivalent. All other post-secondary education in Commerce, Marketing, Administration or Agriculture will be considered an asset.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience that result in the required level of knowledge skill and competence will be considered.The Customer Account Representative Trainee role is a temporary training opportunity intended to prepare the successful candidate for a future Customer Account Representative role with Viterra. The length of the training program will vary based upon individual; however, is typically 12 to 18 months in duration. Once the Customer Account Representative Trainee has successfully completed the training program, the Trainee will be required to apply for Customer Account Representative vacancies throughout Viterra’s Country Operations group. As such, candidates must be willing to relocate.
