Job Description

Meeting with clients, keeping food bank organized and well stock.This is a permanent part time position at 24 hours per week. Shifts are Tuesday - Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.Must hold a valid driver’s license.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct initial intake assessments (including evaluation of individual & family protection issues) determining immediate needs and support needed by the client
  • Provide emergency assistance (food, shelter, clothing etc.) in accordance with policy
  • Maintains confidentially and keeps accurate client files and statistics
  • Assists in the organization, maintenance, and general cleanliness of food bank area
  • Prepares grocery orders and puts away grocery stock
  • Picks up daily food bank donations of food
  • Responsible for cash management
  • Preforms office duties such as: Answers phone calls, direct inquires, files documents manually and electronically
  • Assists with bank deposits
  • Responsible for the assisting of the coordinating of the annual Christmas Campaign
  • Assists with food bank drives as needed
  • Other duties as needed
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:Minimum Education Level Attained:
  • Grade 12 or equivalent
Minimum Prior Related Experience:
  • Training will be provided
PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:Must hold a valid drivers license.Physical Effort/Dexterity Required:
  • The performance of the job requires continuously standing for long periods of time. Frequent twisting, bending, crouching, reaching, reaching overhead, pushing and pulling, lifting (up to 40lbs), kneeling and entering data for transactions.
Concentration Required:
  • The performance of the job requires visual monitoring and frequently working with paperwork.
