The City strives to be anengaged and diverse employer with approximately 105 employees, increasing to over 130 during summer months.The City of Weyburn is offering an opportunity to work at Weyburn Leisure Centre as a Fun in the Sun InclusiveCamp & Summer Art Program Leader. As we continue to grow and prosper as a community, we seek a motivatedand innovative employee to join our team! We are looking for 3 Full Time and 2 Part Time Inclusive ProgramLeaders to join our team.Responsibilities:Will provide one-on-one supervision, support and care for children with intellectual disabilities;Will work in conjunction with other Program Leaders to plan, co-ordinate and facilitate quality of sport,culture and recreation activities for the Fun in the Sun Inclusive Day Camp & Summer Art Camp;Ensures that all activities are designed and facilitated to meet the needs and abilities of the participants;Adhere to and interpret staff policies, practices and procedures of the Fun in the Sun Inclusive Camp &Summer Art Camp;Ensure safety and confidentiality of participants;Maintain required documentation, records and reports as required;Provide weekly reports, attend meetings and scheduled planned events within the workday;Primary role is to help all children ages 6-12 years develop intellectually, socially, physically andemotionally by creating opportunities for planned and spontaneous play; andAct as a positive role model at all times.Minimum Qualifications:Students hired must be at least 15 years of age or older, enrolled as a student at a secondary or post-secondary school or institution;Experience with people who have intellectual disabilities preferred;Standard First Aid/CPR-C/AED;Recreational background;Belief in Inclusion and respect for children with diverse needsAdditional Information:Job Status – Seasonal (July 5 – Aug. 30, 2021)Wage – In accordance with CUPE Local 90 Agreement.Application Deadline – June 2, 2021 or until positions are filled.To Apply:Please submit your resumes and cover letters directly to Tina Clay, Aquatics Manager at careers@weyburn.ca ordrop off your information at city hall.
