Date: June 13, 2022Location: City of Weyburn – Public WorksThe City of Weyburn is a dynamic and progressive community located in the heart of Southeast Saskatchewan.Recently voted the best place to live in the Prairies by MoneySense Magazine, the city has a population of over 10,500and a solid economic and community foundation upon which new opportunities are continuously built.The Public Works Labourer is responsible for performing a variety of labouring activities to maintain and repair theutilities (water distribution and sewer collection/treatment) for the City.Responsibilities: Dig ditches and trenches using shovels and other hand tools. Assist with performing manual water and sewer repairs on City infrastructure. Operate jackhammers and drills to break up pavement. Load and unload trucks with supplies and equipment. Assist equipment operators to secure attachments to equipment or trucks. Assist in routine maintenance and repair of equipment. May operate mobile sidewalk-cleaning equipment. Follows established procedures and ensures established performance safety standards are met. Performs other duties as required.Qualifications: Grade 12 education or equivalent GED; Certificate in WHMIS required, First Aid preferred Possession and maintenance of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 licence required.
