Job Description

Weyburn Comprehensive School, located in the community of Weyburn, SKTerm:Start Date: October 31, 2022End Date:Tenure:PermanentHours of Work:Equivalent to 6 hours per day student daysDuties:In addition to those duties outlined in the job description, duties include supporting students with diverse needs and/or high behavioral needs. The successful applicant may be required to perform the following:

  • Lifting - Ability to lift up to 60 pounds without a lift and up to 120 pounds with a 2 man lift or mechanical lift
  • Transport students (personal vehicle may be required to transport)
  • Attend to personal hygiene and medical needs as required
  • Prepare and plan student-based life skills and academic programming under direction of teacher
  • Focus on successfully transitioning the student to be able to work with other students and adults
  • Focus on behaviour and safety plan created specifically for students as required
  • Supervision of intensive need student(s) as well as small groups of students as required
Qualifications:
  • Minimum Grade 12 diploma from an institution recognized by the Board of Education
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to change and be flexible
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as an effective team member
  • Valid drivers license
  • Demonstrated knowledge of school computer software such as word processing and computer assisted learning software
  • A educational assistant or equivalent diploma, NVCI, First Aid, Autism and Behavioral educational background will be considered assets
  • Commitment to the ideals of public education as well as the mission, vision and guiding principles of the South East Cornerstone Public School Division
Salary & Benefits:Salary and benefits are in accordance with the currently negotiated SEIU-West Collective Agreement as listed on our website www.secpsd.ca.
