Job Description

Date: April 11, 2022Location: City of Weyburn – Leisure DepartmentWeyburn is a thriving prairie city nestled in the southeast corner of Saskatchewan and a dynamic communityproviding exceptional quality and opportunities for its residents and visitors. The City of Weyburn is a multifacetedorganization employing much of the local public in a variety of meaningful careers. The City strives to be anengaged and diverse employer with approximately 105 employees, increasing to over 130 during summer months.The City of Weyburn is offering an opportunity to work in the Leisure Department as a Rec Worker 1. As wecontinue to grow and prosper as a community, we seek a motivated and innovative employee to join our team!Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of ongoing janitorial, building, and grounds maintenance duties as well as custodial
services;
  • Carry out the requirements necessary to accommodate a variety of programs;
  • Assist with the record keeping and the operation and maintenance of the various building systems;
  • Maintain a positive attitude and customer care services with the general public and other staff;
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts to accommodate the various programs and services;
  • Responsible for upgrading knowledge and skills in order to comply with operational requirements;
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Completed a grade 12 level education or equivalent;
  • A demonstrated strength in interpersonal savvy and customer service;
  • Must be knowledgeable with Provincial Occupational Health and Safety regulations, as they pertain to the
operation of public buildings;
  • Previous building, arena or pool experience would be an asset; and
  • Possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
Additional Information:
  • Job Status – Permanent full time
  • Classification – Unionized, CUPE Local 90
  • Wage – Commensurate with CUPE Local 90 Agreement
