The following temporaryposition is open for applications:EDUCATIONASSISTANT – LIBRARY CUPECompetition No. 5451EDUCATIONASSISTANT – SPECIAL EDUCATION (STUDENT SPECIFIC 1)Location: District – NorthWhistler Secondary –Community SchoolEffective: January03, 2023 to June 29, 2023Hours: 2.5 hours per day, for all days school isin session (Library)3.5hours per day, for all days school is in session (Student Specific 1)Rate of Pay:$26.64/hour (Library)$28.32/hour (Student Specific 1)Duties & Responsibilities:Under the direction of the Principal(s), and thegeneral supervision of the Classroom Teacher(s), provides assistance tostudents who have physical disabilities, chronic health impairments,intellectual disabilities and/or social, emotional and behavioural problems asdesignated by the Director of Instruction, while supporting the achievement ofstated program goals and objectives.Under the direction of the Teacher-Librarian and with the generaldirection of the Principal performs a variety of clerical and student supportduties in school libraries.Qualifications:Completionof Grade 12 plus a special program and over six (6) months up to and includingone (1) year’s related experience. Aspecial program would be the Capilano University Education AssistantProgram. Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’sLicense. Knowledge of basic First Aid. Basic knowledge of related learningtools (ie. computers, etc). Knowledge ofdatabase management, spread sheet and word-processing programs.
