Job descriptionExecutive – The Inn at Whistler Village is an intimate 67 suite European style boutique hotel - a portal to the new Whistler experience. Perfect for pleasure-seekers, the hotel is in the heart of Whistler Village just steps from the slopes, nightspots and shopping. It is a one-minute walk to the ski lifts. The hotel offers Village Side and Mountain Side views along with a heated outdoor pool, Jacuzzi and fitness facility.We are looking for qualified individuals to join us as PIPs – Partners in Pride! We strive to show our DEDICATION by winning the loyalty of our guests one stay at a time and providing them with the genuine EXPERIENCE that they have come to expect from the Executive Brand.We are looking for a Front Office Manager (Maternity coverage) to join our busy and professional team in Whistler. The ideal candidate is one who is focused on guest service, who enjoys interacting and meeting new people. Candidate will have a courteous and professional demeanor, and be willing to go the extra mile to make a guests experience exceptional. This is a hands-on position responsible for leading a small but capable team and will be responsible for the following tasks:Operations:

  • Checks in guest in an efficient and friendly manner, using guest name whenever possible.
  • Making and entering reservations accurately while reviewing hotel inventory.
  • Assures that guest is assigned type of room requested and the correct rate is charged. Issues correct keys to the guest.
  • Checks out guest at end of stay. Ascertains guest satisfaction, collects keys, posts late charges and presents bill to guest. Settles bill accurately through credit card or cash transaction.
  • Maintains a balanced float assigned by the hotel. Reconciles all transactions at the close of each shift
  • Records and balances daily transaction log and prepares daily reports for distribution
  • Process deposits for future booking in accordance with our cancellation policies
  • Handles all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible; resolving customer complaints; assists customers in all inquiries in connection with hotel services, hours of operations, key hotel personnel, in-house events, directions, etc.
  • Responds to all guest requests in an accurate and timely manner.
Human Resources and Development
  • Creates a strong service culture in the hotel and maximizes guest satisfaction index.
  • Yearly Performance Management reviews of employees.
  • Participates in applicable hotel and corporate training programs.
  • Develops retention strategies.
  • Employee Recognition Program – Guest Services
  • Prepares departmental payroll for submission to finance.
Financial
  • Maximizes net operating income through effective execution of the budget.
  • Follows the hotel’s revenue management strategies and contributes when required.
  • Plans and reviews operational purchases to ensure efficient usage of available resources.
  • Provides all required financial information to FC in a timely manner
  • Reconciles OTAs and Sabre, submit to FC
  • Reconciles petty cash, submit to FC
Supervision and Support
  • Encourages open dialogue among all associates and cultivating an environment which encourages employee suggestions and involvement.
  • Ensures coverage in time of manpower shortage, emergency situations and vacation.
  • Assists with the roll out of any Corporate Initiatives.
  • Continuous coaching and mentorship of the guest services team.
Risk Management
  • Ensures the health and safety of all Guests and Employees.
  • Ensures Local, Provincial and Brand compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
