The resort is a five-minute walk to the ski lifts and a 10-minute stroll to the village center, making it the perfect location for a rustic adventure any time of year.Our guest rooms are spacious, beautifully re-styled in December, 2019, the refurbished rooms and suites pay close attention to the unique placement of Whistler – a secluded retreat, just an hour and a half away from the international destination of Vancouver.In December 2020, we completed a property-wide enhancement with the launch of Braidwood Tavern, a craft kitchen and social house conceived in collaboration with celebrated chef and restauranteur Richard Sandoval, along with a re-imagined SIDECUT Steakhouse, both designed by Box Interior Design.The Role - OverviewThe Housekeeping Supervisor works hand in hand with the Housekeeping leadership team to ensure a high level of cleanliness hotel wide. The position oversees the employees in the Housekeeping and Laundry team, including the development and engagement of the team. This is a pivotal role in the Resort that is ideally suited to an experienced hospitality professional looking to develop their career.The following in a list of duties, it is not all-inclusive and should only be used as an overview of the actual responsibility.

  • Inspects the work of a team of Room Attendants and House Attendants responsible for the cleaning and upkeep of a specific area of the hotel
  • Assist the Housekeeping leaders on the daily management of the department
  • Lead the department in the absence of the Director of Housekeeping or Housekeeping Manager
  • Schedule the Housekeeping team to provide maximum service to guests within budgeted guidelines
  • Train and supervise the Housekeeping team in the performance of their duties
  • Assists with responsibilities and duties in the absence or heavy volume in the areas of Lobby Attendant, Room Attendant and House Attendant.
  • Additional tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and discipline employees when needed
  • Communicate closely with the Night auditor and Assistant Managers to ensure follow-up on any special problems, guest requests, etc.
  • Review daily arrivals to ensure proper handling of V.I.P.s and Return Guests, groups, etc. and to escort V.I.P.s and Return Guests to their rooms
  • Schedule work to be done daily
  • Monitor each Room Attendant’s daily progress. Inspects completed rooms to assure that all standards have been met. When standards have been missed, bring employee back to room and coaches the employee on how to correct the deficiency
  • Coordinate work orders in assigned section
  • Follow up to be sure work is completed
  • Release checkout rooms to be sold
  • Monitor the performance of House Attendants
  • Assure that there are sufficient supplies on the guest floors
  • Check cleanliness of guest corridors, stairwells, elevators and Linen Closets
  • Inspect guest rooms and tour the hotel during each shift, completing maintenance requests as needed
  • Complete evening Housekeeping report and follow-up on discrepancies
  • Assist other departments as required in resolving problems
  • Act in the absence of senior management in all matters concerning the safety, security and well-being of hotel guests, patrons, and employee
  • Respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation
  • Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management
Applicants will be a willing team player, comfortable with computer systems including Opera, Microsoft Office and HOTSOS and is willing to accept assignments on as need basis, in order to promote team work.Qualifications & Experience
  • At least 2 years’ experience in the same role, ideally in a luxury hotel or residence environment.
  • Previous experience developing and managing a team.
  • Strong command of the English language
  • A working knowledge of hotel systems and operations.
