Job Summary:The Referral Manager is responsible for driving traffic and sales within Whistler Blackcomb Retail/Rental stores and online ecommerce sites. This role’s primary focus is to identify, secure, grow, and continually manage business development opportunities between VRR, hospitality, resort and community partners, as well as other VR lines of business to drive both walk-in and reservation sales. The Referral Manager will create meaningful connections through strong relationship management amongst our brands and our customers through strategic, targeted and personalized efforts all while leading their senior specialist. This person must be a good communicator who is able to give and take feedback, collaborate with team members and community partners, and prioritize workflow. He/she will be involved with many diverse projects and be responsible for delivering results on-time in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility and a positive attitude are crucial as well as the ability to make data-informed decisions to drive the business.Job Responsibilities:
  • Build, strengthen and create new relationships with lodging and other In-Resort parties to grow retail and rental referral business through sales-orientated partnerships.
  • Develop a strategic and proactive plan to grow revenue within the referral program
  • Be out front in managing issues and meeting needs of various stakeholders.
  • Effectively manage, lead and develop senior specialist
  • Build and maintain critical relationships and serve as the key communications resource for retail/rental with In-Resort partners and develop strategic messaging that supports the division’s goals.
  • Successfully manage multiple stakeholder relationships to capture rental market share from competitors with a focus on driving walk-in and reservation activity.
  • Work with leadership to recognize opportunities, trends and develop new initiatives with the goal of driving incremental sales.
  • Create a schedule of focused visits to new and/or potential partners to increase engagement or new acquisition opportunity.
  • Grow brand awareness for all Whistler Blackcomb Retail/Rental stores
  • Maintain strong working relationships across affiliate-base and lines of business
  • Check and confirm regular reporting to ensure correct commission structures and payments are executed.
  • Commission program management.
  • Strengthen program awareness with newsletters and various campaigns.
  • Prioritize and schedule visits to affiliates on prescribed and one-off bases as needed.
  • Maintain awareness and communication of competition and generate feedback for progress where necessary.
  • Inform and train participants on the referral program and processes including affiliates and employees.
  • Aid in aligning the program to store systems, reporting, commission payouts and collateral orders while ensuring member satisfaction is not compromised.
  • Assist with other stores and departments during busy periods where needed.
  • Fulfill administrative assignments for additional markets.
  • Organize special events with partners, vendors and employees ensuring they remain on time and within budget.
Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience, and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in marketing and/or sales (retail and partnership marketing preferred)
  • Strong leadership and management skillset with a drive to develop talent
  • Self-starter who can adapt to change and effectively navigate through ambiguity
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, including ability to work with people from various cultures and areas of the business; builds and maintains highly effective working relationships internally and externally
  • Team player – strives for collective success
  • Strong communicator that is able to provide and receive feedback and a strong team player
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite, advanced excel skills a plus
  • Able to work in a fast past environment and prioritize changing objectives
  • High degree of organizational skills and attention to detail
