Job Description

TAG Sales ManagerResponsibilities:

  • In partnership with The Adventure Group Whistler (TAG) and Gibbons Whistler Sales and Marketing and Management, develop and execute a successful sales strategy that will push both direct and 3rd party reseller bookings.
  • Be the primary point of contact and nurture the relationships with key 3rd party resellers and partners such as Whistler Hotels, Tourism Whistler, DMCs and internal Gibbons Whistler staff.
  • Arrange, host and lead Product Knowledge sessions and Host Familiarization tours
  • Sales Contests/Initiatives: Create and be accountable for monthly sales incentives for resellers – notifying them, tracking, awarding
  • Build and nurture affiliate programs as a means to drive 3rd party sourced sales.
  • Professionally represent TAG in community and industry organizations and events.
  • Attend all Trade Shows and Events and represent the TAG brand. Examples include: Tourism Whistler tradeshow(s), Tourism Vancouver Tradeshow(s), Welcome Nights, Adventure Travel Expo’s
  • Support with the loading and day to day management of TAGs ecommerce & booking platform, FareHarbor and key 3rd party platforms ensuring that products are correctly setup with accurate rates and inventory loaded.
  • Participate in scheduled sales meetings, training and other sales & marketing strategy related meetings as required.
  • Understanding the overall market - competitors strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, etc.
  • Analyze sales reports to identify top opportunities both for direct sales and with key 3rd party resellers.
  • Achieve financial objectives by forecasting visits / revenue / profit, preparing a season and annual budget and applicable expenditures
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of TAG product offerings

  • A history of superior customer satisfaction, preferably in the Tourism / Hospitality sector.
  • An ability to find creative and efficient solutions for a variety of customer needs.
  • Effective communication, presentation, and teamwork skills, excellent organizational skills, and an outstanding attention to detail.
  • A confident and dynamic personality that matches the voice and brand of The Adventure Group.
  • Develop and maintain respectful working relationships with colleagues
Other Specifics:
  • 5 days a week in-resort.
  • 100% of time is spent between Whistler office, customer F2F calls and TAG base camp.
  • 3+ years in a supervisor or manager role
