***Please submit your application directly through our career site: www.whistler.com/careers.***Position SummaryA Visitor Centre Agent acts as a Tourism Whistler ambassador, living our purpose and vision with passion & energy, achievement and respect. With extraordinary customer service, an Agent provides information and insights to guests about the resort of Whistler and province of British Columbia.Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a Tourism Whistler ambassador, living our purpose and vision with passion & energy, achievement and respect.
  • Greet in-resort guests and local residents with exemplary service, providing current and relevant information as requested.
  • Serve industry partners by promoting tourism products (businesses, attractions, and special events) via email, telephone and in person about Whistler, the Sea to Sky Corridor, and the province of British Columbia.
  • Provide quotes and fulfil activity and accommodation sales for inquiring guests (through Inntopia or online booking).
  • Ensure industry partners information is current (i.e. up to date brochures, business hours, admission prices, and contact information).
  • Maintain brochure racks and brochure ordering.
  • Responsible for product sales, cash handling and inventory management.
  • Follow Tourism Whistler’s health and safety regulations including maintaining a clean workspace.
  • Maintain professionalism as a tourism counsellor, with a positive attitude.
  • Follow all standard operating procedures as outlined in the Tourism Whistler Employee Handbook and the Visitor Services Manual.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of Whistler, the Sea to Sky Corridor and British Columbia is an asset.
  • Proactive and resourceful in gaining increased knowledge and understanding of Whistler and the surrounding area.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office & POS systems).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on guest satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of sales, cash handling and selling techniques an asset.
  • Being multilingual is an asset.
