We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Electrician to join our Maintenance team based out of Peace Arch Hospital located in White Rock, B.C.Under the functional direction of the Lead Hand and the general supervision of the Supervisor, you will perform skilled electrical work at the journeyman level by performing duties such as installing, altering, repairing, maintaining and servicing electrical equipment and systems.Effective October 26th 2021, all new hires to Fraser Health will need to have full COVID 19 vaccination (have received a full series of a World Health Organizationquot;WHO quot; approved vaccine against infection by SARS-COV-2, or a combination of approved WHO vaccines). Please note this applies to all postings, and individual medical exemptions must be approved by the Provincial Health Officer.Curious to learn what it #39;s like to work here Like us on Facebook (@fraserhealthcareers), follow us on Twitteramp; Instagram (@FHCareer), or connect with us on LinkedIn (fraserhealthcareers) for first-hand employee insights.Performs skilled electrical work at the journeyman level in installing, constructing, altering, repairing, maintaining and servicing electrical equipment and systems.- Installs and repairs electrical wiring and equipment; alters and repairs circuits; makes connections to equipment and appliances.- Trouble shoots electrical wiring and equipment, failures and system problems.- Carries out electrical safety inspections on equipment, appliances, motors and controls; Ensures compliance with applicable codes and regulations.- Reviews work requests and consults with use departments regarding specifications and other project requirements.- Interprets blueprints, drawings and specifications in order to determine material and equipment required; calculates materials and labour in estimating cost of projects and makes recommendations as required.- Prepares for work project by arranging work schedule with user departments and assembling supplies, tools and equipment.- Recommends detailed improvements to facilities in all areas of responsibility.- Develops, implements and assures performance of preventative maintenance and quality assurance programs in all areas of responsibility.- Requisitions materials and supplies and advises on optimal warehouse stock levels.- Maintains routine work activity reports and records.- Interprets drawings, blueprints and installation specifications.- Liaises with, on an as needed basis, external consultants and/or work forces to ensure work proposed/performed meets hospital and/or regulatory standards.- Participates in continuous Quality Improvement activities, to enrich and advance various processes, through the effective use of resources to meet the needs of the customer.- Performs other related duties as assigned.Education and ExperienceCertificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a Journeyman Electrician recognized by the Province of British Columbia.
