Job Description

Locally owned and operated, RROX Aggregates Ltd. is a Park Paving Ltd. affiliate and an industry leading producer of high-quality aggregates for the Edmonton market.Our aggregate products are manufactured and transported via rail from our aggregate reserves in north-central Alberta to the Edmonton market where they become key components in the production of high-performing asphalt, ready-mix concrete and other aggregate products that shape our communities. The RROX Manager, Aggregate Operations is a strategic member of the leadership team at RROX and Park Paving that not only champions the production and supply of our aggregate products, but also helps drive our operations to maintain high standards in safety, sustainability, improvement and innovation.This a role that demands high-level strategic thinking, confident decision-making, and timely execution across all facets of the aggregate industry, from areas of operational efficiency to business development. Requirements

  • Setting departmental and organizational objectives, and providing guidance to personnel to ensure goals and results are achieved.
  • Set and manage the schedules for the production and rail transport of to-spec aggregate materials based on inventory demand and forecasts.  Includes planning subcontractor crushing requirements.
  • Effectively manage budgets and costs through efficient utilization of all company resources.This includes regular analysis of costs, inventory levels, production rates, and market conditions.
  • Work with the sales team to drive aggregate sales by fostering positive customer relationships and making new community and industry connections.
  • Report and present production and financial data to senior management and ownership.
  • Monitor aggregate extraction according to established mining plan.
  • Ensure all site operations are compliant with all safety regulations and project requirements.
  • Ensure proactive, preventative maintenance is completed on all stationary and mobile assets.
  • The recruitment and development of all employee positions.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years in the management role of an aggregate operation. This must include knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment maintenance, quality control, asset and financial management and mining plans.
  • Previous experience with transporting goods by rail an asset.
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills with an ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Proven progressive leadership and employee management experience.
  • Must be very proficient in the use of computers including Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
