We are acceptingapplications for the following:Position: Childcare AssistantLocation: Wildwood Schoolhttps://wildwoodschool.gypsd.ca/Start Date: September 21, 2021Hoursof work: 4.5 hours per day, Tuesday and Thursday,10 months per yearThe competition will remain openuntil: September9, 2021REPORTSTO:Worksunder the direction and supervision of the Childcare Worker and/or the SchoolPrincipal.SUMMARY:TheChildcare Assistant provides assistance in ensuring safety of the students andday-to-day operations of the center and follows the guidance and instruction ofthe Childcare Worker.DUTIES:Theduties of this position are not limited to the listed components, but willencompass 80% of the assigned duties on a regular basis.Assists withpreparation of program-related materials and resources.Usescomputers and other specialized equipment to provide support.Monitorsstudents’ daily arrival, dismissal, and lunch/playground activities.Accompaniesstudents on outings within the community and transport students asrequired.Will assistand/or provide personal and physical care as required.Reportssafety and discipline concerns to the Childcare Worker and/or Principal.Follows theJunior Kindergarten’s daily routine.Supervisesall children while providing a safe, supportive, and nurturingenvironment.Buildspositive relationships with parents and communicates regularly with them.Performsother assigned duties that are within the area of knowledge and skillsrequired by the job description.REQUIREMENTS:PossessChild Development Assistant certification or acquire Child DevelopmentAssistant certification within 6 months of hire into this role.Completionof grade 12 diploma or equivalent.Technologyand computer-related skills.Excellentoral and written communication skills.Ability toidentify and solve problems.Self-motivated,self-directed, and flexible.Excellentorganizational skills.Ability towork with minimal supervision and as a team player.Physicalability to perform the required duties.In accordance with Board Policy, the successful applicantwill be required to provide the following:Vulnerable Sector CheckChild Intervention CheckEvidence ofa Grade 12 Diploma or equivalentPleasesubmit the following:A coverletter and resumeThe resumemust highlight professional qualifications, relevant training andexperience.Pleaseinclude a list of three references with permission for Grande Yellowhead PublicSchool Division to contact any or all references.We thank all applicants for their interest however;we will contact only those selected for interviews.Toapply to this posting, you are required to log into your account below andclick the “apply” button at the bottom of the page.
