Job Description

We’re looking for a Continuous Improvement Engineer! Join us at Can Art and leverage your expertise to make a real difference!POSITION SUMMARYThe Continuous Improvement Engineer drives process excellence, operational efficiency, and cost savings across our manufacturing operations. In this role, you will identify and lead improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and data-driven methodologies to optimize aluminum extrusion and related processes.WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Lead and support continuous improvement projects focused on reducing waste, improving quality, and enhancing productivity throughout the plant.
  • Facilitate cross-functional kaizen events and implement Lean tools (5S, VSM, TPM, SMED, etc.).
  • Analyze data to identify trends and root causes; recommend and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to support problem-solving efforts and standardize best practices.
  • Provide training and mentoring on Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to staff at all levels.
  • Contribute to strategic projects related to automation, digitalization, and operational excellence.
  • Participate in capital project planning and ROI assessments as they relate to process improvement.
  • Support safety and sustainability initiatives by promoting process reliability and operational discipline.
WHO YOU ARE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related field).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in aluminum extrusion or metal fabrication.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and CI tools (Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred).
  • Proficient in data analysis and statistical tools (Excel, Minitab, Power BI, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience driving change and fostering a continuous improvement culture.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.
WORK SCHEDULE AND LOCATION
  • In office at our Lakeshore location.
  • Regular hours of work are Monday through Friday, day shift.
