Requisition ID: 34994Opportunity Type: PermanentEstimated Annual Salary: 250,000 - 300,000Type of Remuneration: APP- Alternative Payment PlanSite Visit & Reallocation Allowance Programs: Relocation Program; Site Visit ProgramDepartment of Health & Wellness Incentives: Debt Assistance; Family Medicine Bursary Program; Tuition ReliefAbout This OpportunityAvon Medical Clinic is seeking two full-time family physicians and a part-time family physician to join this collaborative group practice consisting of one family physician, one nurse practitioner, and one family practice nurse. This is a turn-key opportunity with a competitive overhead rate.Avon Medical Clinic uses the Med Access electronic medical record (EMR) system and also utilizes the My Health NS technology with their patients. There is no call or weekends. Physicians can incorporate emergency care, inpatient care, long-term care, or surgical assists into their medical practice if they wish. Services offered at this clinic include:

  • lactation consultant and neonatal follow-ups
  • palliative care
  • addictions medicine
  • minor procedures
Nursing staff have specialty training in mental health and diabetes education.Responsibilities
  • deliver comprehensive primary health care services to practice patients of all ages and stages of health or illness
  • work with other providers in the clinic to provide cross coverage and same day access Monday to Friday
  • work with other providers in the clinic to provide a plan for weekend availability and after-hours access and emergency coverage
  • participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities either developed in practice or as lead by Nova Scotia Health Authority or others
  • utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) and record all relevant patient details in a provincially approved EMR which is common and accessible to all collaborating team members
Expected Hours
  • permanent, full-time
  • no evening or weekend call
Qualifications
  • all applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
  • all specialists must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
  • membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
