Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute precise preparation and cooking of individual menu items and full-course meals, ensuring consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation.
  • Follow standardised recipes and adhere to strict quality control measures.
  • Adjust seasoning, flavour, and presentation as needed to meet culinary excellence.
  • Ensure food is prepared in a timely manner to maintain smooth kitchen operations.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient workstation, adhering to food safety and hygiene protocols.
  • Utilize professional kitchen equipment, including grills, ovens, fryers, and slicers, with expertise and care.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the head chef or kitchen manager to order ingredients and supplies.
  • Implement efficient food rotation and storage techniques to minimize waste and uphold quality standards.
  • Adhere strictly to food safety regulations, including HACCP principles
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and preparation of ingredients to prevent cross-contamination and foodborne illnesses.
  • Follow workplace safety guidelines, including handling hot surfaces, sharp utensils, and heavy kitchen equipment with caution.
  • Collaborate with chefs, kitchen staff, and front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service and food consistency.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, apprentices, and kitchen assistants as required.
  • Contribute to menu development by suggesting creative ideas for new dishes and improving existing recipes.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, culinary techniques, and best practices to enhance kitchen performance.
