Job Description

In your role as the Accounts Receivable Clerk, at The North West Company (NWC), you are responsible for performing various clerical and accounting tasks related to Accounts Receivable such as customer invoicing, journal entries, collections and customer statement preparation. Check out northwest.ca for more information.Your Role:Generating and sending invoices to customers in a timely and accurate manner. Responsible for creating Journal entries and vouchers for customer invoices, payments received, or adjustments. Recording and tracking incoming payments from customers and verifying the accuracy of the payment, applying it to the correct customer account. Monitor customer accounts and following up on overdue payments. Prepare customer statements on a regular basis, which provide a summary of outstanding balances and payments made. Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer account records. Perform other duties as assigned.Desired Skillsamp; Experience:A minimum of one year of relevant work experience is required. A Diploma/Degree in a relevant field is an asset Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with an emphasis on Excel. Must possess accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work. Must be capable of maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information. Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures is required. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service; Experience with PeopleSoft is considered an asset. Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures. Previous aviation experience is considered an asset.
