The people we Support:We serve a remarkable community of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences. Since founding in 1987 as part of the Welcome Home program, we #39;ve been dedicated to supporting adults with intellectual disabilities as they transition from institutional settings to vibrant community living. We provide 24-hour support to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, FASD, Mental Health challenges, problematic substance use, and behavioural and sensory challenges, ensuring each person receives the care, respect, and opportunities they deserve. We #39;re committed to empowering individuals to thrive as valued members of their communities, celebrating their resilience and unique journeys every day.House Leader Residential Program:The House Leader oversees and takes the leadership role on a support team. The House Leader coordinates and manages all day-to-day support to ensure that the persons supported achieve their personal goals, build relationships, make informed choices, and exercise their rights. The House Leader ensures the support team has the resources necessary to help them facilitate people #39;s participation in social roles that lead to integration into a typical and valued life in the community.Duties and Responsibilities:General:

  • Maintain positive communication.
  • Maintain positive public relations.
  • Follow confidentiality and privacy policies.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Provide relief resources when needed.
  • Report changes to management.
Direct Support:
  • Communicate regularly with supported individuals, families, and agencies.
  • Advocate for supported individuals when necessary.
  • Encourage expression of wants and needs.
  • Identify service needs and inform management.
  • Assist in program planning and management.
  • Participate in selection of individuals served.
  • Support property and transportation management.
Administration:
  • Ensure secure record keeping.
  • Monitor funds for supported individuals.
  • Assist with scheduling and payroll.
  • Manage vacation, sick time, and overtime.
  • Complete administrative duties as required.
  • Attend leadership meetings.
Leadership:
  • Provide guidance to support workers.
  • Facilitate team development.
  • Assist in recruitment and orientation.
  • Conduct motivation meetings.
  • Communicate performance expectations.
  • Follow disciplinary policy.
  • Ensure resource availability.
  • Delegate tasks as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years of Direct Support Work experience.
  • Leadership and supervisory experience.
  • DCSP or related post-secondary education.
  • Proficiency in computer programs.
  • Valid driver #39;s license and a reliable vehicle.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and organized.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Current criminal record and abuse registry checks.
  • First Aid Certification (level C).
    Hours of Work and Working Conditions:This is a full-time position with hours reflective of the locations assigned. To provide additional support outside the standard work hours, you may be required to work some overtime hours with paid compensation. This position generally includes Direct Support Work for approximately 60% of the time and Administrative and leadership duties for 40% of the time.Please note that this position requires a female applicant as a bona fide occupational requirement, due to the nature of the residential homes being designated for female residents.We are currently looking to fill the following schedules:Option 1:Monday - 8:30am-4:30pmThursday - 3pm-11pmFriday - 8:30am-4:30pmSaturday - 3pm-11pmSunday - 3pm-11pmOption 2:Mondays - 8:30am-4:30pmTuesdays - 3:00 - 11:00pmWednesdays - 3:00 - 11:00pmThursday - 3:00 - 11:00pmFridays 3:00 - 11:00pmOption 3:Monday - 8:30am - 4:30pmTuesday-Thursday- 2:00-10:00pmFriday - 8.30am - 4:30pmOption 4: Monday - 8:30am-4:30pmTuesday 7:00am-3:00pmWednesday 7:00am-3:00pmThursday 7:00am-3:00pmFriday - 8:30am-4:30pmBenefits

    Physical requirementsThis job requires a lot of sitting, walking, bending, and lifting.
