Job Description

Analyst, Risk and Compliance - (Full-Time)The CompanyCredit Union Central of Manitoba (CUCM) is the trade association for Manitoba #39;s credit unions and as such manages liquidity reserves, monitors credit granting procedures and provides trade services in areas such as corporate governance, government relations, representation, and advocacy. CUCM also provides human resources services, research, communications, planning, lending, compliance, and risk management services to credit unions. Manitoba credit unions jointly own CUCM and it is financed through assessments and fee income derived through its operations.Our office is located in downtown Winnipeg close to the Canada Life Centre. In the current environment, employees have the ability to work from home occasionally. The PositionThe Analyst, Risk and Compliance is responsible for supporting the risk management and compliance functions within the organization. This role involves updating and maintaining risk and compliance requirements, analyzing risk data and preparation of reports, monitoring compliance activities, assisting in the development and implementation of policies and procedures and supporting the delivery of compliance training programs. The Analyst will work closely with the Director, Risk and Compliance and other team members to ensure the company adheres to regulatory requirements and effectively manages risks.Essential Responsibilities

  • Support the organization #39;s risk management and compliance functions through collaboration, analysis, and monitoring
  • Communicate requirements and following up with risk and compliance owner
  • Assist in the development of mitigation strategies
  • Supporting business continuity planning
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes
  • Maintaining risk and compliance records in Governance RIsk and Compliance software
  • Support investigations of compliance breaches.
  • Contribute to policy development and training programs
  • Prepare documentation for regulatory submissions
  • Assist with data analysis in collaboration with other departments.
The Person:
  • Two to four years of relevant experience
  • Completion of three to four years bachelor program at a university, college, or technical school that provides a recognized specific certificate
  • Enrollment in, or recent completion of, the CFA or CPA program is an asset.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and regulatory requirements for risk reporting.
  • High degree of computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrates customer focus, teamwork, accountability, creative problem solving, conceptual thinking, self-motivation, and is results-oriented, with a high degree of attention to detail.
